First Published for General Circulation1935 on colophon page. Cloth (buckram) binding with gilt lettering and design on front cover and spine. Top edge of pages tinted brown by the publisher. The front and bottom edges of most pages have intentionally not been trimmed. Heavy and large, quarto-size book of 672 pages. There are 53 illustrations in photogravure, the majority of which are full page black and white portraits and four fold-out maps. This book comes from a non-smoking household and is in overall Very Good Condition. Minor rub wear contained to the covers but no fraying or loss of buckram. Inside front fly page has been professionally restored. This copy is bright and clean, tight and square, with strong, sound hinges with no cracking. A great find!
